Nestled within the heart of Armley in Leeds, Red Kite View is a specialised 22-bed facility focused on children and young people’s mental health needs.
The brief included the need to design a safe and calming environment, with a non-institutional aesthetic, for vulnerable young people going through difficult times. A focus on biophilic design best practice included the protection of 150 year old trees and connecting outdoor spaces with the building.
This award -winning scheme has been operational since 2022, and voted Best Pupil/Student Experience at Education Estates 2022
