The scheme was accepted with 100% councillor backing and received high praise. Independent design reviewers from OPUN commented that the design ‘demonstrates great skill in creating a scheme that is strongly rooted within its context and meets the bespoke needs of the client’
This new house will be located within a smallholding near the Village of Kirk Ireton in Derbyshire. It is a modern, energy-efficient interpretation of a Derbyshire longhouse using familiar agricultural forms and materials in a modern, refined manner to create a new home for our client.
This is Great news for our clients as it will allow them to live a self-sufficient life on their land where they have already introduced rare breed sheep and keep bees. This permission gives them the opportunity to take up residence on the land where they can support their flock and intend to improve the sustainable small holding reinstating historic hedgerows, growing meadow and growing their own food in a productive garden.
