We were appointed to design and deliver a £1m public realm scheme for Eastgate in Harlow Town centre. The designs had to realise the vision that Harlow Council have for the regeneration of their town as set out in the wider Masterplan.
Drawing inspiration from the trees found on Eastgate and the historical connection of the site with flint working, we developed a design language with which to implement a high quality new streetscape. The designs integrate urban greening and bespoke lighting to change perceptions of the town centre. Encouraging more people and inward investment to the centre.
With a challenging programme of 3 months to complete the design in order to ensure funding was achieved, our knowledge of materials and public realm construction detailing was vital. The scheme is currently under construction and is due for completion in December 2020.
