National College for High Speed Rail, Doncaster

Ares Landscape Architects are working in conjunction with Willmott Dixon and Bond Bryan Architects to deliver the UK’s first high speed rail college in Doncaster.

The development utilises a large brownfield site on the outskirts of Doncaster, providing a new lease of life to the towns long standing rail sector. Design form and materials take cues from typical railway infrastructure through the use of linear design elements, materials such as track ballast and planting typologies reminiscent of those found on railway sidings. These elements combine to provide a stimulating opportunity for creative and innovative landscape design.

Furthermore it is exciting to be delivering such a milestone project associated with the development of HS2 which is set to be one of the largest infrastructure projects in recent years.
